Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-10-09
This policy covers the Gnawledge app and this website.
The app
Gnawledge has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party tracking code.
Your searches stay on your device. What you type is read and matched on the phone, by a model that runs on the phone, against topics stored on the phone. It is not sent anywhere and it is not written to storage. The app keeps no search history.
What is stored on your device: the topics you saved, your settings, the packs themselves, and a small count the app uses to decide when to ask for a rating. Nothing else.
When the app uses the network. Only for these things:
- Opening the full Wikipedia article for a topic, when you tap its link. That opens in your browser, and Wikipedia’s own privacy policy applies there.
- Buying the app, which is handled by Apple through the App Store.
- Feedback, if you write some and choose to send it. That sends your message, the app and system version, and an email address only if you typed one.
- Checking for newer topics, once a day at most, if that setting is on. The request is a plain download of a public file and carries nothing that identifies you. In version 1.0 this check is not active.
